Born in the island of Saint Martin, a Dominican Republic native, Mickaël who goes by the artist name Blanko Ekama is a latino artist. Thanks to that surrounding and culturally diverse environment, he become a natural polyglot, just like he has said in many occasions, he speaks in spanish, thinks in english and lives in a french territory. His musical inspiration goes from Eminem, Biggie Smalls to a Wisin y Yandel and Daddy Yankee. Coming from a marginal district his interest in music started at a really young age with the church's choir on Sundays, playing the drums and at times preaching. He started getting in to the rap scene around 2004 right after he heard the song En Honor A La Verdad by Vico C. He then continued honing his skills with his group called HNC, (High Note Clan). It's in 2016 when he meets the french producer Yoroglyphe, They soon started working together and in 2019 is where Blanko ekama's career really began with his first single "Roll It Up"...
